The MacMeyer PRO-pree-o-SEP-tive Project: emotional anatomy, is the second installment ofThe MacMeyer P_______ Project. Using a socio-artistic relational structure and the 16th letter of the alphabet to create collaborative opportunities, TMMPP is an amorphous project sympathetic to its environment. For the occasion of M:ST, TMMPP finds itself in the company of the medical term proprioception: the body’s ability to sense where the various parts of the body are located in relation to each other. With its roots in the medical world, but its bloom in Calgary, The MacMeyer Proprioceptive Project introduces eMOTIONal anatomy as the starting point for a series of week-long city interventions and a workshop with the Youth Animation Project participants at Quickdraw Animation Society. Documentation of the project can be found in the display windows outside the Max Bell Theatre at the EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts.
Jessica MacCormack’s work combines various elements of interactivity, performance, intervention, installation, and video. She is currently completing an MFA through the Public Art and New Artistic Strategies program at Bauhaus University in Germany. Hazel Meyer is a Toronto-based visual artist who has worked as a fabric designer at Tricots Liesse, founded the Hound’s tooth, forsooth! fabricLAB, and exhibits her projects inter/nationally. She is currently attending the inaugural year of OCAD University’s Interdisciplinary Master’s in Art, Media & Design.
